Two new affordable homes will be built for families next week in Lawrence, thanks to the Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity, professional homebuilder volunteers and local building material donors.

The Lawrence homes are part of a national Habitat for Humanity Home Builders Blitz goal to build 250 homes in 25 states.

The two Builders Blitz homes will be near seven other homes that Merrimack Valley Habitat for Humanity has built, with another 10 more planned in Lawrence. The homes will be adjacent three-bedroom townhomes of approximately 1,100 square feet each.

The six building companies leading the Merrimack Valley Habitat Home Builders Blitz 2012 are: Howell Custom Building Group (Lawrence); Meadowview Construction (Georgetown); Cote & Foster Construction (Methuen); Premier Builders (Georgetown); JSR Adaptive Energy Solutions (South Hamilton); and Correct Temp Inc (Methuen).

The Tapco Group is donating vinyl siding to the homes.
