Cambridge’s Fresh Pond Apartments and Boston’s Symphony Plaza housing developments were recently given Communities of Quality Awards from the New England Affordable Housing Management Association (NEAHMA).
Communities of Quality Awards honor the achievements of affordable housing providers who have made a contribution to the affordable housing industry by developing and maintaining properties that are safe and vibrant places to live, according to a statement.
Fresh Pond Apartments, a 504 unit development, received the award for Exemplary Family Development, according to a statement. The housing development is owned by an affiliate of Schochet Assoc. Inc., a for-profit owner of affordable housing throughout New England.
Symphony Plaza, a 404 unit development, received the award for Exemplary Development for the Elderly, according to a statement. The housing development is owned by Retirement Housing Foundation, a national faith-based nonprofit headquartered in Long Beach, Calif.
