A Cambridge energy startup is the first tenant to commit to Skanska’s 230,000-square-foot speculative office building at Two Drydock in the Boston Seaport District.

Shell TechWorks will relocate from its Cambridgeport offices to 43,821 square feet at Two Drydock, which is scheduled for completion in early 2020. Shell founded the research arm in 2013 to focus on projects including autonomous vehicles, robotics and data synthesis.

Shell TechWork’s new Seaport location will span floors five and six and include research and development space, with access to a dedicated outdoor terrace on the fifth floor.

The 13-story office tower is equipped with an automated 150-space parking garage located on the second through fourth levels that can be converted into office space. The building contains 9,000 square feet of retail space.
