Another big national real estate brand is coming to Cape Cod as Kinlin Grover joins Compass.

The two firms announced the partnership yesterday afternoon.

Under the terms of the partnership, Kinlin Grover Real Estate will be known as Kinlin Grover Compass going forward, but its leadership will stay in place.

The tie-up comes five-and-a-half months after another prominent local brokerage, Robert Paul Properties, sold itself to Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Commonwealth Realty Group. But with $1.66 billion in sales in 2020, around 450 agents and a 19 percent share of the Cape Cod and islands housing market, Robert Paul Properties could ultimately have a bigger effect on the local market.

Kinlin Grover leadership said it was motivated to join Compass by the company’s agent-facing marketing tools and technology.

“Over the years we’ve adopted countless resources to ensure the very best experience for our agents and our clients. After meeting with Compass, we realized this strategic alliance would allow us to maintain our company culture while providing the best-in-class agent support, marketing and technology offered on the Compass platform,” Michael Schlott president of Kinlin Grover parent company The Randall Family of Companies, said in a statement. “We’re excited to join with a company who values their agents as customers and trusted partners and who has the vision and resources to build and invest in our profession, bringing the highest level of service to our clients.”

The deal may also set the stage for further disruption in the state’s brokerage landscape. Compass New England Regional President Jeffrey Heighton will “work in partnership with Kinlin Grover Compass leadership to grow their footprint in Massachusetts,” the two companies said.

Kinlin Grover has 20 offices across Cape Cod, plus outposts in Plymouth, New Bedford and Wareham.

“At Compass we always aim to collaborate without ego and that’s what we are announcing today – a collaboration between Compass and some of the most experienced real estate professionals in New England,” Heighton said in a statement. “This partnership further expands Compass’ robust network across MassachusettsRhode Island and Connecticut, creating new opportunities for our New England agents and beyond.”
