The new owner of a Chelmsford mill complex plans to add new food and beverage tenants after acquiring the three-building property for $14.85 million.

Hudson-based Manzo Freeman Development said it will begin a capital improvement program at The Landing at Chelmsford Mills, a 285,000-square-foot complex at 51 Middlesex St.

The seller was Chelmsford Holdings, which acquired the property in 1992 for $1.1 million.

The complex is 97 percent leased to office, light manufacturing, warehouse, retail and restaurant, research and health and wellness tenants.

The complex is the former home of the Silesia Mills, originally completed in 1890. Manzo Freeman’s planned upgrades include new signage and entrances, and improvements to common areas.

The acquisition is the fifth mill complex in Manzo Freeman’s portfolio. The company also owns The Landing at Hudson Mills, The Landing at Everett Mills in Lawrence, Walpole Business Center and The Landing at One Chestnut in Nashua, New Hampshire.
