A group of Chelsea industrial properties housing a tannery have sold to a firm that supplies road salt to many Boston-area municipalities.

Boston Hides & Furs sold the parcels at 110, 150, 182 and 200 Marginal St. to an LLC controlled by Eastern Salt Co., whose docks lie just across Marginal Street on Chelsea Creek, for $28 million.

The four parcels cover 3.35 acres and are mostly vacant, with the exception of Boston Hides & Furs’ 3-story, 39,000-square-foot facility at 150 Marginal St. and a 2-story, 8,000-square-foot office building at 200 Marginal St.
