Chelsea Neighborhood Developers Win MHIC Excellence Award

Chelsea Neighborhood Developers (CND) and its executive director, Ann Houston, recently received an Excellence in Affordable Housing award from the Massachusetts Housing Investment Corp. (MHIC) for their leadership and success in implementing comprehensive neighborhood revitalization strategies.

"Chelsea Neighborhood Developers has a long track record of building affordable housing in Chelsea and recently has been at the forefront in redeveloping foreclosed homes," the MHIC said in a statement.

The organization commended CND and Houston "for their comprehensive strategic plan for neighborhood revitalization, for their commitment to developing that plan with a deep sense of resident empowerment and for their perseverance in taking some of the most challenging properties."
