Three financial institutions are featured in this week’s roundup.

 

Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston

Employees of Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston recently donated household items for HomeStart Inc., a Boston-based nonprofit organization that works to prevent homelessness. Donations of bed linens, towels, cookware, cleaning supplies, small household appliances, gift cards and other items were collected to assemble “Welcome Home Baskets” for HomeStart. Additionally, more than $2,700 in cash donations were contributed for the effort. The donated items will be provided to individuals who are transitioning out of homelessness into their own apartments.

 

Main Street Bank

The Main Street Bank Charitable Foundation awarded The North Central Massachusetts Development Corp. (NCMDC) a $30,000 grant for the Economic Advancement Fund to implement and expand the regional economic development program. The NCMDC is a resource for economic development, lending and financing, and implementing a multifaceted regional economic development strategy to enhance economic development services while expanding lending capacity to accommodate the region’s unique industry mix.

 

MutualOne Bank

MutualOne Bank awarded $10,000 to the Framingham Police Department to support the reduction of unused prescription and over-the-counter drugs available for circulation in the community.
