Bristol County Savings

Bristol County Savings Bank, through its charitable foundation, awarded a grant totaling $60,000 to the New Bedford Public Schools to support the Playworks program during a ceremony at the Congdon Elementary School in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Playworks is a national nonprofit organization that delivers an evidence-based program for safe, healthy play in urban schools. The grant will allow the program, launched last year, to continue at the Congdon, DeValles, Hathaway and the soon-to-be-completed Irwin Jacobs elementary schools.

 

The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod

On Sept. 1, employees of The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod held a special Charity Jeans Day to raise money for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. After raising almost $1,300, the bank matched employee donations. The bank cut a check for $2,568 to the American Red Cross of the Cape, islands and Southeast Massachusetts.

 

MutualOne

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation has awarded $2,000 to help the Friends of Callahan celebrate the Framingham Council on Aging’s 50 years of service to local seniors. The $2,000 gift to the Council on Aging was among awards totaling $68,330 in the Foundation’s most recent round of funding.

 

Rollstone Bank & Trust

Rollstone Bank & Trust recently donated $5,000 to the New Players Theatre Guild. The funds will be used towards a new heating, ventilating and air conditioning system in its building on Rollstone Street in Fitchburg.

 

RTN Federal Credit Union

RTN Federal Credit Union and RTN GoodWorks Foundation presented a check for $22,039 to the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless. The funds are proceeds raised from Walk Home 2017, which took place in June. This year, funds will be donated to help homeless teens and families in Danvers, Waltham and Boston, as well as support the work of the coalition.
