In this week’s roundup of Community Good Works, banks, credit unions and insurance companies donated and sponsored events to benefit the Greater Boston community.  

 

Pentucket Bank 

Pentucket Bank of Haverhill donated $3,731.78 to the Essex County community Foundation to support those impacted by the gas and fire disaster in Merrimack Valley this past September. This donation adds to the $25,000 donated immediately after the disaster to the Merrimack Valley Gas/Fire Relief Fund. 

 

The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod 

The Coorperative Bank of Cape Cod donated $500 to support activities and programs of United Kidz Soccer Development at Barnstable High School and other Cape Cod communities.  

 

North Shore Bank 

North Shore Bank of Peabody will be the signature sponsor for Citizen Inn’s annual fundraiser to support families and individuals in housing crisis or food insecurity. The funds from sponsorship will support planning costs for the event.  

 

ECOlogic 

ECOlogic of Charlestown has partnered with Roxbury Community College to provide English for speakers of other languages and workplace literacy training for its employees through a $69,000 Workforce Training Fund Grant administered by Commonwealth Corp.  

 

Greylock Federal Credit Union 

Greylock Federal Credit Union of Pittsfield has raised $4,080 for food pantries through its Employee Community Giveback program. Soldier On Food Pantry, People’s Pantry and The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts each received $1,360.  

 

Arbella Insurance 

Arbella Insurance employees of Quincy raised over $25,000 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute during its tenth annual Pink Day. The donation was matched by the Arbella Insurance Foundation, totaling the donation at $50,000.  

 

Clinton Savings Bank 

Clinton Savings bank donated $2,000 to the Clinton Police Department to benefits Cops for Kids with Cancer. Federal Home Bank of Boston provided a $1,000 match to the bank for the donation.
