Cornerstone Bank

Worcester-based Cornerstone Bank recently donated $2,000 to Tri-Valley Inc., an organization that helps seniors and people with disabilities live independently in their own homes.

Dedham Savings Bank

Dedham Savings Bank has donated $3,000 to the Friends of the Dedham Public Library. The money will be used to support current programming provided by the library, including the popular program through which patrons can reserve passes that provide free or discounted entry to institutions in the Boston area.

Gray, Gray, & Gray

Gray, Gray & Gray LLP, a Canton-based accounting and business advisory firm, is partnering with the Boys and Girls Club of Dorchester in a back-to-school “backpack challenge” to provide underprivileged families with 50 backpacks filled with the essential items necessary for their children to succeed in school.

Hanscom FCU

Hanscom Federal Credit Union was recently honored for its financial education programs specifically targeted to the military community. The credit union received the America Saves Designation of Savings Excellence Award for 2019, which was presented by the nonprofit organization America Saves, part of the Consumer Federation of America. Hanscom FCU participates in Military Saves Week each year, a campaign that brings together nonprofit organizations, defense credit unions, government agencies and other groups for the shared mission of educating, encouraging and supporting the financial health and education of the military community.

Hanscom FCU also presented a check for $1,500 to the U.S. Army Natick Morale, Welfare and Recreation on behalf of the Armed Forces Financial Network. This grant matches the Board Memorial Award of $1,500 given to the U.S. Army Natick MWR at the end of 2018 by Hanscom FCU.

North Shore Bank

Peabody-based North Shore Bank recently presented Beverly-based Change Is Simple with a $1,300 donation. The proceeds were raised by bank employees as part of their weekly “Jeans Day” program.

Shawmut Design and Construction

Shawmut Design and Construction, a Boston-based construction management firm, participated in the 2019 Pan-Mass Challenge cancer fundraiser, marking the 12th straight year the firm has participated in the two-day bike-a-thon. This year, Team Shawmut raised $230,000 and counting, accumulating more than $1.5 million in total fundraising since the team’s inception.

Suffolk Construction

Suffolk Construction teamed with Samuel & Assoc. and the Bright Horizons preschool network to celebrate the completion of phase one of the Landmark Center project by reading to children at the Bright Horizons Family Center at Landmark. Suffolk Northeast’s Landmark Center project team also hosted nearly 120 children for a Construction Play Day at the project site, located in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood.
