Clinton Savings Bank

Clinton Savings Bank recently donated $750 to support the continuance of the Berlin-based Hands-On Nature summer program. The outdoor nature educational sessions are conducted for preschool and elementary school children in Central Massachusetts  to promote curiosity, exploration and knowledge.

Cornerstone Bank

From July 31 through Aug. 9, Cornerstone Bank customers and employees donated many back-to-school items to Planting the Seed Foundation of Worcester and the YMCA of Southbridge. Planting the Seed will distribute the donated supplies to needy children in Worcester while the YMCA of Southbridge will donate items to children that they service throughout the Southbridge Public Schools system.

Davis Malm

Boston law firm Davis Malm held a backpack drive to support the children of servicemen and women who are in-patients at the VA hospital in Bedford, in preparation for the 2019-2020 school year. Over half of the firm’s attorneys and staff collaborated with Veterans Legal Services to collect and fill 47 backpacks with school supplies for elementary and middle school students. All items were delivered to the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital on Aug. 22.

Dedham Savings Bank

The Dedham Savings Bank donated $14,000 to the Westwood Integrated Preschool. The funds were used to purchase new playground equipment. The Westwood Integrated Preschool was originally established in 1989 with the goal of providing a learning space for children with special needs to adjust to a classroom environment.

Hanscom FCU

Hanscom Federal Credit Union named retired Army Sgt. 1st Class Jim Keys, a former combat photographer and Vietnam Veteran, as its most recent Heroes Among Us honoree of 2019. Keys was honored on Aug. 19 at LeLacheur Park in Lowell during a Lowell Spinners baseball game. Keys not only dined at Home Plate BBQ and watched the baseball game from a private suite with his friends and family, but also was able to meet with players and throw the first pitch of the game.

Peabody Properties

For the second year in a row, Braintree-bsed real estate and property management firm Peabody Properties awarded Christina Cesar, a resident of its Irving Square Apartments property in Framingham, a $2,500 scholarship from the National Affordable Housing Management Association Educational Foundation.
