Dedham Savings Bank donated $5,250 to the Fourth Presbyterian Church Food Pantry. The money donated was used to aid in the purchase of a larger freezer to allow for the storage of more food, including more healthy choices and protein choices. The Fourth Presbyterian Church Food Pantry is staffed entirely by, and is an extension of, Fourth Presbyterian Church in South Boston.

Hanscom Federal Credit Union

Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s Board of Directors presented its annual Board Memorial Award to America’s VetDogs, which places highly skilled service and guide dogs with disabled veterans, active-duty service members, and first responders. The $1,500 grant, which honors past and present Hanscom FCU board members, is given annually to a volunteer group that serves Hanscom Federal Credit Union’s membership base.

Rollstone Bank & Trust

Fitchburg-based Rollstone Bank & Trust is collaborating with Fostering Change Inc., a local non-profit, to provide holiday gifts for its annual “pickup day” for foster families on Dec. 15 Leominster. The pickup event allows foster parents to “shop” for gifts for their foster children, free of charge, to ease the financial burden of creating a memorable holiday. Founded by Lindsey English, a foster child herself, Fostering Change is a 501(c)3 organization that will serve approximately 600 foster children in the greater Worcester area this year.

Sheet Metal Workers Local 17

Boston-based Sheet Metal Workers Local 17 donated $20,000 for children across Boston this week at its annual Man and Woman of the Year Awards. Friends For Children, which was founded by Local 17 members, supports children who have been abused or neglected or who are suffering from disease and poverty.
