Charles River Bank

Mendon-based Charles River Bank President and CEO Jack Hamilton presented a check totaling $1,735 to Malcolm Clifton of Mendon from donations collected through a relief fund set up for Malcolm and his wife Ellie. On October 22, their house was severely damaged when a wood chipper detached from its truck, struck a telephone pole and crashed into the side of their home. No one was hurt in the accident. The fund was established to help the couple with any expenses they may have had while their house was being repaired. Donations ranged from $5 to $250 and were received from dozens of local individuals, businesses and families including one from Charles River Bank and another from Hamilton, himself.

City Realty

City Kids, a youth education nonprofit program developed by City Realty, donated Chromebook laptop computers to students at East Boston Central Catholic School. This donation is part of the City Kids mission to provide educational resources and opportunities for children growing up in Boston’s inner-city neighborhoods.

Cornerstone Bank

Worcester-based Cornerstone Bank made a donation of $40,000 to the Worcester Community Action Council. This major financial contribution will go toward assisting local residents with home heating costs.

The bank also recently announced its recent three-year, $60,000 commitment to sponsor the Canal District Shuttle. The shuttle provides free service to employees and customers of Worcester’s Canal District by driving from four satellite parking lots and making stops throughout the district.

Hanscom Federal Credit Union

Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation recently was awarded a grant of $3,000 by the Enterprise Holdings Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Holdings. The grant will be used to support the ongoing work the Hanscom FCU Charitable Foundation does on behalf of the Home Base program.

MutualOne Bank

Framingham-based MutualOne Bank donated $8,910 to the Framingham History Center to underwrite major changes to the Framingham History Center’s third grade tours for students in the Framingham Public Schools.

The bank also recently made a a $15,000 Foundation grant to MetroWest YMCA’s Heart of the Community Campaign. The grant is in fulfillment of its second payment toward a $75,000 pledge to support MetroWest YMCA’s $4 million goal to transform and expand the Framingham Branch YMCA.

North Brookfield Savings Bank

North Brookfield Savings Bank recently donated $2,000 to the North Brookfield Chapter of Hearts for Heat, a community-based, non-profit organization dedicated to confidentially providing payments for fuel, including oil, gas, and wood, to North Brookfield residents on a fixed incomes.

RTN Federal Credit Union

Waltham-based RTN Federal Credit Union’s GoodWorks Foundation has raised $3,967 through a fundraising raffle this past fall. Proceeds from the raffle will help support RTN GoodWorks Foundation’s community projects and financial education efforts.
