Bristol County Savings Bank
Taunton-based Bristol County Savings Bank presented a $10,000 grant to the South Eastern Economic Development Corp. for a loan loss reserve fund for its new SBA Micro Loan. The loan is for small businesses whose owners and more than 50 percent of their employees meet the Low to Moderate Income Criteria.
Cape Cod Five
Hyannis-based Cape Cod Five will match up to $100,000 in community support for seven local healthcare organizations: Cape Cod Healthcare; Community Health Center of Cape Cod; Outer Cape Health Services; Nantucket Cottage Hospital; Martha’s Vineyard Hospital; Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital – Plymouth; and Southcoast Tobey Hospital.
This match is part of a larger commitment of $500,000 in philanthropic support to assist those affected by COVID-19 on Cape Cod, the Islands and in Southeastern Massachusetts announced last week. In addition to the community challenge, there will be a $25,000 match for employees on top of the bank’s annual employee donation match program, which was instituted two years ago.
City Realty
Boston-based City Realty is donating new Chromebooks to help dozens of underserved Boston students continue learning at home during the coronavirus pandemic. School officials estimate that at least 15 percent of all Boston public school students do not have access to a computer at home. Since the coronavirus pandemic struck, many schools have tried to adapt to online classes.
The students were selected through The BASE, the Roxbury-based nonprofit which supports education and athletic opportunities for urban youth. City Realty Group, through its own nonprofit organization called City Kids, is a longtime partner of the organization.
Martha’s Vineyard Bank
Edgartown-based Martha’s Vineyard Bank launched a $625,000 coronavirus relief package to address the needs of both the Martha’s Vineyard and Falmouth communities.
Of this pledge, $150,000 will be distributed immediately to fund emergency needs like food assistance, with another $350,000 for needs yet unknown, to be distributed over the next few months. An additional $125,000 will be used to create and fund a “Lift Certificates” program to boost short-term revenues for local small businesses.
MutualOne Bank
Framingham-based MutualOne Bank gave $500 to the Framingham Garden Club
Pentucket Bank
Pentucket Bank has given The Boys & Girls Club of Haverhill, The Boys & Girls Club of Salem and Family Services of the Merrimack Valley each $2,500 in unrestricted funds as part of its plan to give $25,000 to 10 local organizations as part of its effort to boost charitable giving by 20 percent in 2020.
