Citizens Bank announced $480,000 in equal grants of $15,000 to 32 Massachusetts small businesses. The money is intended to help them continue operating and recover from the downturn brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Clinton Savings Bank
Clinton Savings Bank donated donated $20,000 to six food pantries in its service area supporting residents left jobless by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Freedom Credit Union
Springfield-based Freedom Credit Union donated $55,000 to a healthcare nonprofit, two healthcare providers, the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts and two other organizations working to provide meals to first responders and health care workers.
Helge Capital
Boston-based real estate firm Helge Capital donated 70 heart rate and blood pressure monitors and 20 boxes of energy bars and other individually wrapped snacks to Dorchester’s Codman Square Health Center, which sits at the center of one of the communities hit hardest by the COVID-19 pandemic.
MIT Federal Credit Union
Cambridge-based MIT Federal Credit Union donated $10,000 to the MIT Staff Emergency Hardship Fund, which provides financial assistance to MIT staff and postdoctoral students experiencing severe financial hardship.
North Brookfield Savings Bank
North Brookfield Savings Bank announced it and its staff had donated unspecified dollar amounts to seven food pantries in its service area.
Rockland Trust
Hanover-based Rockland Trust donated $140,000 in grants to nine local nonprofits serving those hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic and the economic downturn it caused. The bank, through its charitable foundations, says it plans to give $500,000 to pandemic relief efforts.

Leominster-based Rollstone Bank donated 2,000 KN95 masks to be used by frontline healthcare workers at UMass Memorial HealthAlliance-Clinton Hospital
RTN Federal Credit Union
Waltham-based RTN Federal Credit Union has donated $4,500 to the Lawrence General Hospital COVID-19 Response Fund. LGH is one of RTN’s employer groups, and RTN serves as the Credit Union for Lawrence General employees.
WS Development
Boston-based WS Development has partnered with Fuel the Fight Boston to feed hundreds of healthcare workers at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Beth Israel Lahey Health, Mass General Hospital, South Shore Hospital Weymouth, and Norwood Hospital and support local restaurants. Each of WS’ Massachusetts properties are launching GoFundMe campaigns to raise money to pay for 500 meals.
