Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union made a $250 donation to Meals on Wheels of Hillsborough County in the name of volunteer Arlene Hutchinson. Hutchinson also was given a $250 prize. The donation was part of the credit union’s International Day of Charity celebrations, and local charities nominated volunteers to be recognized as part of the events.

Martha’s Vineyard Bank

Edgartown-based Martha’s Vineyard Bank awarded $20,000 to 23 teachers in Falmouth and on the Vineyard in the first-ever round of special grant series intended to add enrichment to classrooms outside of the normal curriculum. Funding can be for items such as equipment and instructional materials for math, science and language art programs, author visits to the schools and creative writing workshops.

Naveo Credit Union

Somerville-based Naveo Credit Union raised $400 for local nonprofits the Massachusetts Alliance of Portuguese Speakers and Community Cooks as part of a social media campaign during #ilovemycreditunion Day in July.

Sherin and Lodgen 

Boston law firm Sherin and Lodgen announced that one of its real estate and hospitality lawyers, firm partner Joshua M. Bowman, completed his 10th Pan-Mass Challenge bicycle ride, raising over $11,000 for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Bowman, the firm said, has raised over $113,000 over his rides.
