Cambridge Savings Bank

Cambridge Savings Bank sponsored the purchase of a new pickup truck by Caritas Communities, a nonprofit that provides very low-income people in Massachusetts with permanent housing, support and jobs in an effort to prevent homelessness. The truck, to be used by Caritas’ maintenance team, joins two work vans the bank sponsored in 2019.

Citizens

Rhodes Island-based bank Citizens renewed its sponsorship of Girls Who Code’s Summer Immersion Program, a free two-week virtual program where rising sophomore, junior, and senior girls will learn to code in a supportive environment, gaining critical leadership skills. The program will serve as many as 6,000 students around the world.

The Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod

The Hyannis-based Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod awarded $30,000 in grants through its charitable foundation to five local nonprofits:

  • $5,000 to B FREE Wellness
  • $10,000 to Cape Cod Children’s Place
  • $5,000 to Cape Cod Military Support Foundation
  • $5,000 to Cape Cod Toy Library, Inc.
  • $15,000 over three years to WellStrong

ERA Key Realty Services

Northbridge-based brokerage ERA Key Realty Services gave $3,000 to several area charities via its charitable trust fund, including $750 each for the Mary Queen of the Rosary Parish Food Pantry and the St. Paul Food Pantry, both in Spencer; and $500 each for Hearts for Heat in North Brookfield, the Charlton REAS Foundation (Residential Energy Assistance for Seniors) and the Leicester Senior Center.

People’s United Bank

Connecticut-based People’s United Bank gave $10,000 to the Mystic Valley YMCA through its charitable foundation. The grant will help pay for technology upgrades for the nonprofit’s childcare, swimming and community food programs, which serve over 14,000 people in Malden, Medford and Everett.

The bank also gave $12,000, again through its charitable foundation, to Citizens Inn Inc., a food pantry and community meals program in Essex County.
