Berkshire Bank

Boston-based Berkshire Bank announced that its foundation made $584,361 in donations during the first quarter. The company says it plans to make $15 million in donations by the end of 2024.

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union

Lowell-based Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union donated $1,500 to Mill City Grows after it won the organization’s first-quarter Give-A-Click campaign that allows community members to vote for grant recipients. Established in 2011, Mill City Grows aims to provide fresh, locally grown food and educational resources to residents of Lowell via its eight community gardens.

Peoples Bank

Holyoke-based Peoples Bank celebrated Earth Day with its 10-year-old annual giveaway of tomato plants and seeds at its branches in Holyoke and South Hadley, Suffield and West Hartford.

Vicinity Energy

To celebrate Earth Day, Vicinity Energy employees volunteered to stencil over 100 Cambridge stormdrains with “do not dump” signs to make them more visible to the public and to remind others not to discharge hazardous materials, waste, or other pollution into these structures that flow into the Charles River.
