CCIAOR 

Six organizations on Cape Cod recently won $1,000 Massachusetts Association of Realtors grants through the Cape Cod and Islands Association of Realtors, the latter group announced:

  • Belonging to Each Other: Provides transitional housing for adults experiencing homelessness in Falmouth during the cold weather months, and housing restoration services year-round.
  • Champ Homes: Provides transitional housing, mentoring and vocational opportunities to adults on Cape Cod who are homeless or near-homeless in a safe, compassionate, respectful environment.
  • Harwich Ecumenical Council for Homeless: HECH’s main mission is to develop compassionate solutions to homelessness problems for families, especially those with children living in Harwich & the surrounding communities of Cape Cod.
  • Homeless Prevention Council: The Orleans-based HPC empowers people by providing the tools, resources and guidance to promote stability through personalized solutions.
  • The Lily House: Provides around-the-clock hospice-level care in Welfleet, at no cost to those in need.
  • Vineyard House: Provides housing for island men and women in need of a safe, structured living environment in Vineyard Haven while they are in the early stages of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction.

Northern Bank 

Woburn-based Northern Bank employees recently helped a displaced family of three into its new, permanent home in Dorchester through nonprofit Heading Home’s “Up & Out” program, and outfitted the home with a variety of household essentials donated by their bank colleagues.

Rollstone Bank & Trust

Leominster-based Rollstone Bank & Trust donated $10,000 to the Twin Cities Rail Trail Association to support the preservation and maintenance of the Fitchburg-Leominster trail.
