Bank of America

Bank of America gave $200,000 to Urban Farming Institute and Ascendus, nonprofits working to reduce food insecurity and increase access to capital for businesses in low-to-moderate income neighborhoods.

Charles River Bank

Medway-based Charles River Bank gave $1,000 to the Medway Community Farm, a local, organic farm.

Clinton Savings Bank

Clinton Savings Bank employees collected 1,600 pairs of socks to donate to WHEAT Community Connections.

Country Bank

Country Bank, based in Ware, gave $20,000 to the Wonderfund of Massachusetts. The Wonderfund helps kids and teens served by the Department of Children and Families to enjoy childhood’s magical moments during the holiday season.

Freedom Credit Union

Springfield’s Freedom Credit Union staff and members raised more than $1,000 for Unify Against Bullying.

Monson Savings Bank 

Monson Savings Bank donated $1,000 to HomeFront Strong, formerly known as the Brookfield Institute, in support of their annual Shaped by Service Art Show.

The bank also gave $2,000 to the Silver Street Chapel in Monson to help maintain the 125-year-old building.

Lastly, the bank gave $1,500 to sponsor this year’s Junior Achievement of Western Massachusetts’ Stock Market Competition.

Newburyport Bank

Newburyport Bank donated $1,000 in sponsorship of the annual Anna Jaques Hospital Aid Association’s Holiday House Tour.

North Brookfield Savings Bank

North Brookfield Savings Bank staff volunteered with Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester to help build a home in Worcester.

Suffolk

Construction giant Suffolk gave $1.5 million in materials and staff time to build out an expanded Home Base National Center of Excellence in Charlestown to add more clinical capacity. Home Base is a partnership between the Boston Red Sox and Massachusetts General Hospital, and operates the largest private-sector mental health and brain injury clinic in the nation focused on caring for active-duty service members, veterans, their families and families of deceased service members. The company also pledged $150,000 over a three-year period to the nonprofit.

Separately, Suffolk announced its employees had volunteered alongside Massport workers to produce 1,000 USO care packages for active-duty military members.

Webster Five

Webster Five gave $38,000 through its foundation to nine Worcester-area nonprofits: Boys and Girls Clubs in Worcester and Webster, the Open Door Arts gallery at the Worcester Art Museum, Open Sky Community Services, Quinsigamond Community College, food rescue group Rachel’s Table, Venture Community Services, the VNA Care Network and the New England Botanic Garden.
