Country Bank

Ware-based Country Bank pledged $25,000 to Worcester’s EcoTarium to support the children’s museum and science center’s development of a “cutting-edge” gallery for traveling exhibits and aid the establishment of a new early childhood science learning center.

Freedom Credit Union

Springfield’s Freedom Credit Union said it gathered 450 toys and $1,345 in donations for Western Mass. Toys for Tots in December.

Mechanics Cooperative Bank

Taunton-based Mechanics Cooperative Bank announced the distribution of scholarships to nine local students and the collection of $16,400 during its fourth annual “Jeans for Charity” dress-down fundraiser, held throughout 2023. The money was donated to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Forever Paws Animal Shelter,and Stanley Street Treatment and Resource Center, a center for alcohol detoxification and treatment programs.

Naveo Credit Union

Somerville’s Naveo Credit Union raised $290 for the American Heart Association on its annual Go Red Day on Feb. 2.

Newburyport Bank

Newburyport Bank gave $5,000 to the Newburyport Literary Festival, set to take place April 26-28.

Rockland Trust

Hanover-based Rockland Trust, through its charitable foundation, gave $20,000 grant to Root NS for its youth culinary job training program.

The Village Bank

The Village Bank, based in Newton, announced the distribution of $50,000 in scholarships to 17 college-bound students from Newton, Wayland, Waltham and other nearby communities the bank serves.
