MountainOne Insurance Agency, a subsidiary of MountainOneBank based in North Adams, has expanded its customer base in Western Massachusetts by acquiring G.W. Morisi Insurance Agency, Inc., a family-owned agency based in Longmeadow.

MountainOne Insurance is born from the combination of several small, family-owned agencies that have served Berkshire communities for generations. MountainOne said the acquisition of the G.W. Morisi marks its first physical office outside of Berkshire County, expanding its footprint into Longmeadow and neighboring communities.

“We’re delighted to welcome the team at G.W. Morisi and look forward to getting to know and serve their many loyal customers and offering expanded services and products,” Jonathan Denmark, president and chief operating officer of MountainOne Insurance, said in a statement. “We are also excited and eager to join the Longmeadow community and hope that in short time we will become the same trusted business partner here as we are in the Berkshires.”

G.W. Morisi’s President Rory Sullivan and three other employees will remain with the agency. MountainOne’s announcement said that additional staff will come on board to help it serve its customers from their 473 Longmeadow St. office.

As a result of the acquisition, G.W. Morisi will expand its services, adding group employee benefits, life insurance, long-term care insurance, Medicare products, and in-house claims services. Customers also have access to new insurance carriers, widening their options for coverage at “highly competitive” rates.
