Central One Credit Union

Shrewsbury-based Central One Credit union announced $20,000 worth of donations to 20 nonprofits, ranging from the Baypath Humane Society to the YMCA of Central Massachusetts. The recipients were selected by employees via the credit union’s casino-themed employee holiday party.

Clinton Savings Bank

Clinton Savings Bank staffers volunteered at a financial literacy event for children enrolled in Lancaster Recreation Department programs. The event, for children ages 5 to 11, sought to teach the importance of savings.

Cummings

Woburn-based commercial landlord Cummings announced $549,000 in grants to 240 organizations as part of its annual holiday Cummings Community Giving event. Recipients were nominated by Cummings staff and received up to $2,000 each.

J Barrett & Company

Beverly residential brokerage J Barrett & Company announced $12,000 in donations to Grateful Friends, also based in Beverly. The donation was made up of $6,000 raised by agents in the company’s six offices and then matched by the brokerage. Grateful Friends provides financial assistance and other supports for adult cancer patients and their caregivers in Essex and Middlesex counties.

Monson Savings Bank

Monson Savings Bank announced a $5,000 donation to the Quaboag Valley Community Development Corporation’s Harrison and Diane Quirk Learn & Save Program. The program matches savings for low- and moderate-income participants while also providing them financial literacy classes.

Rockland Trust

Hanover-based Rockland Trust said it gave $10,000 through its foundation to support The Literacy Center, based in Attleboro, and its workforce development and financial education programming.
