Boston Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Boston Public Schools Superintendent Tommy Chang and Eastern Bank President Bob Rivers teamed up with Paul Lamoureux, CEO of Read to a Child, to help close the achievement gap and boost literacy skills in greater Boston public schools through the national nonprofit literacy and mentoring organization.

Florence Bank distributed a total of 56 grants to nonprofit organizations throughout the Pioneer Valley from $500 to $5,000 through the bank’s Customers’ Choice Community Grants program.

Greylock Federal Credit Union recently announced that its annual Berkshire United Way Campaign raised a total of $126,509.
MutualOne Bank
MutualOne Bank announced recently that the foundation’s second annual $20,000 Robert Lamprey Community Grant will go to MetroWest Legal Services.

North Brookfield Savings Bank presented a $1,500 check to the North Brookfield chapter of Hearts for Heat, a community-based nonprofit organization dedicated to covering fuel costs to provide heat for residents in need.

Northern Bank’s charitable foundation awarded a total of $10,500 in grants to local nonprofit organizations.
People’s United Bank
People’s United Bank recently presented a $5,000 donation to Bridge Over Troubled Waters to support the Emergency Residence and Warming Center. The bank also donated $7,500 to Bottom Line for access and success programs in Massachusetts, and $6,000 to Cradles to Crayons to support its Gear Up for Winter program.

radius financial group has announced it will participate in the Mortgage Bankers Association Opens Doors Foundation partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital. For every residential home loan radius financial group closes, the company will donate a total of $100 directly to a family to help pay for their monthly mortgage or rent while their child is under the care of Boston Children’s Hospital.
RTN Federal Credit Union
RTN Federal Credit Union has announced it will award $10,000 in scholarships as part of its annual James A. Burley Jr. Scholarship Contest. Prizes are $5,000 for first place, $3,000 for second place and $2,000 for third.
