BrightBridge Credit Union

Lawrence-based BrightBridge Credit Union held a back-to-school supplies drive at its branches, donating the results to 18 Massachusetts schools from Fairhaven to Haverhill.

Clinton Savings Bank

Clinton Savings Bank announced that it organized a school supplies drive in cooperation with local radio station 104.5 WXLO, delivering 10 backpacks each filled with supplies to  Coolidge Elementary in Shrewsbury, Boylston Elementary in Boylston, Clinton Elementary in Clinton, Houghton Elementary in Sterling and Major Edwards Elementary in West Boylston.

Country Bank

Ware-based Country Bank gave $25,000 in donations to five local nonprofits through its “WooStars” program, which it runs in cooperation with the Worcester Red Sox’s foundation. For the last five years, the program has recognized staffers at local nonprofits for the “significant impact” they make on their communities, the bank said. Each of this year’s honorees received a $5,000 donation to the nonprofit where they work:

  • Joe Firmani – Operation Service
  • Anthony Bizzotto – Revive of the USA Inc.
  • Robert Alves – Wicked in Pink
  • Donna Marratta – Lorraine’s Soup Kitchen and Pantry Inc.
  • Tom Slicklen – Provision Ministry

Eastern Bank

Boston-based Eastern Bank gave the Braintree Little League program a $10,000 gift to mark the first time in history its 12-year-old players made it to the Little League World Series during an epic series of wins this year.

Greylock Federal Credit Union

Pittsfield-based Greylock Federal Credit Union announced it donated money to buy 41,176 diapers and its employees donated “over 1,200” diapers and wipes to the Berkshire County Diaper Project. The organization works to provide thousands of families in need with diapers and wipes through 27 food pantries in the Berkshires.

Massachusetts Convention Center Authority

The Massachusetts Convention Center Authority announced $115,000 in grants to 23 Boston-based nonprofits, including West End House and the Roxbury Titans football program. The grants are awarded through the MCCA’s Community Partnership Program, which directs a portion of consumer show revenues from the MCEC to support Boston-based nonprofit organizations.

Monson Savings Bank

Monson Savings Bank gave $20,000 to Educare Springfield, part of a national network of early childhood schools that use data-driven practices to prepare children for success in school and life.

Touchstone Closing

Staff from the Andover-based real estate law firm Touchstone Closing visited the family shelter at Lazarus House Ministries in Lawrence to host a back to school-themed pizza party. During the event, Touchstone staff gifted books and school supplies, read to children and ran a bookmark-making art project with the shelter’s children.
