Bay State Savings Bank

Bay State Savings Bank recently announced it has awarded five $500 scholarships and two four-year, $4,000 scholarships to nine area high school seniors based on their academic achievements, character and service to community.

 

Boston Public Library

The Boston Public Library’s annual Read Your Way to Fenway summer essay contest began on June 1. Children and teenagers between the ages of 5 and 17 are encouraged to read at least three books and submit an essay on their favorite for a chance to win Red Sox tickets. The essay deadline is Aug. 1, and the game will take place on Aug. 28.

 

Bridgewater Savings Bank

Bridgewater Savings Bank recently announced that its charitable foundation has made a donation of $1,250 to the Wrentham Elementary Schools Trust Inc. Founded in 2007, the trust provides additional funding to Wrentham educators to support curriculum enrichment programs that fall outside school budgets.

 

Bristol County Savings Bank

Bristol County Savings Bank recently donated $17,000 to the Community Development of Attleboro for its upcoming Summer Expo for the Senses.

 

Clinton Savings Bank

Employees at Clinton Savings Bank have organized a care package donation program called Operation We Care to support local families with military members serving overseas.

 

Commerce Bank

The United Way of Central Massachusetts recently presented Commerce Bank with the 2016 Stoddard Award at their Annual Business Meeting and Celebration. The award honors exceptional leadership provided by a company to United Way through employee fundraising, strong representation on community boards and community volunteer efforts.

 

Additionally, a team of Commerce Bank employees and friends walked in the 2016 Central Massachusetts Heart Walk in Worcester. The team raised $5,100 to benefit the American Heart Association.

 

Commercial Brokers Association

Eight teams comprised of commercial brokerage, architectural and construction firms recently competed in the Commercial Brokers Association’s 2016 Charity Softball Tournament at Moakley Park in South Boston, which raised $5,000 for Caritas Communities.

 

 

Country Bank

Country Bank recently presented 15 scholarships of $2,000 each to local high school seniors. The Country Bank for Higher Education Scholarship was offered to graduating students within the region who demonstrated a commitment to their communities through volunteerism and leadership.

 

Debbie Blais Real Estate

Debbie Blais Real Estate awarded $1,000 scholarships as part of its Annual Scholarship Awards program, which awards students for their volunteer work, grades and extracurricular involvement. Incoming University of Massachusetts Dartmouth student Victoria Woodward received the Middleboro scholarship, while future Bridgewater State University student Jack DuBois received the Lakeville/Freetown award.

Additionally, Debbie Blais Real Estate recently announced that it has sponsored a $100 “hole-tee” at the 10th annual Lakeville United Church of Christ golf tournament. The money raised in the tournament will help support the church and its community missions.

 

Greylock Federal Credit Union

Greylock Federal Credit Union has recently announced the 13 recipients of its “Treat Everyone Better than They Expect” scholarship program, which awards $500 each to a community-minded student from each of Berkshire County’s high schools. The scholarships were awarded to students who demonstrated an outstanding level of community and volunteer work.

 

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union recently awarded $10,000 in college scholarships to members who are either incoming or current college students via its MoneyStrong College Scholarship Program. Jeanne D’Arc also awarded $4,500 in employee college scholarships. The recipients were recognized at a recent reception at Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s corporate headquarters.

 

MutualOne Bank

MutualOne Bank recently announced that its MutualOne Charitable Foundation awarded $2,500 to the Framingham Cultural Council, a nonprofit organization that supports local programs in the arts, humanities and interpretive sciences.

 

People’s United Bank

The charitable arm of Hartford, Connecticut-headquartered People’s United Bank, the People’s United Community Foundation of Eastern Massachusetts, has awarded $156,750 in grants to 33 nonprofit organizations in eastern Massachusetts. All  recipients provide services related to basic needs, affordable housing, social and health services, education and arts and culture.

 

 

Salem Five

Salem Five recently awarded $30,000 to six nonprofit organizations on behalf of the Heritage Salem Five Charitable Foundation. The award recognizes organizations that contribute to education, health and human services, youth programs, affordable housing and community development on the North Shore.

 

SpencerBANK, Southbridge Savings Bank

SpencerBANK and Southbridge Savings Bank recently teamed up to donate over $1,400 to the March of Dimes Organization of New England.

 

TDBank

TD Bank will sponsor programming and events for 2016’s annual Boston Pride Week celebration.

 

The Cooperative Bank

The Cooperative Bank recently donated $500, hula hoops and jump ropes to the Charles Summer Elementary School to help rebuild the playground that was destroyed in a fire last month.

 

UniBank

UniBank recently announced that it has partnered with Nationwide Financial and Attorney John C. Rexford to host two free seminars on retirement and estate planning in June. These free seminars are open to the public, and will be held at UniBank’s newest branch in Sutton. A seminar on Thursday, June 23, will focus on the impact of health care costs on retirement, while another seminar on Thursday, June 30, will discuss estate planning for families and individuals.
