Bank of America recently joined The Neighborhood Developers to open One Beach, a residential facility with 39 affordable rental apartments for seniors.

 

Belmont Savings Bank

Belmont Savings Bank recently announced the recipients of its $30,000 grant program for its charitable giving initiative in Waltham. MacArthur Elementary School PTO received the $10,000 first place prize to upgrade and expand their playground.

 

Bristol County Savings Bank

Bristol County Savings Bank recently awarded a $20,000 grant to the Fall River Public Schools to support the educational programming and outreach of its Parent Academy, which provides free education and creative learning opportunities in the area.

 

Commerce Bank

Commerce Bank contributed $2,500 to the Ichabod Ball, which benefitted Preservation Worcester, an organization that supports significant sites and structures in the area.

 

Commodore Builders

Commodore Builders employees recently raised over $3,000 for the 12th Annual Julie Fund Walk, which funds cancer research.

 

East Cambridge Savings Bank

East Cambridge Savings Bank recently began its second annual Calendar Photo Contest, which allows local photographers to submit photos of their neighborhoods, to be used in East Cambridge Savings Bank’s 2017 calendar. Photos must be submitted by Sept. 30.

 

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union

Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union member Natalie Barros, a seventh grader at Saint Michael School in Lowell, recently won first place in the 2016 Massachusetts Credit Union Student Essay Contest. Her essay was about watching her community come together to help her raise enough money to send Sandy Hook Elementary teacher Kaitlin Roig on a trip to Disney World.

 

Middlesex Savings Bank

Middlesex Savings Bank announced the creation of the John R. Heerwagen Award for Nonprofit Leadership. The award, which is named after the bank’s retired CEO, will recognize a nonprofit leader whose work has significantly benefited the Middlesex community. The award includes a grant of $15,000 and nominations are due by Aug. 1.

 

MutualOne Bank

The MutualOne Charitable Foundation recently announced that it awarded a $1,000 grant to Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts to provide financial assistance for Framingham and Natick families with children attending camp.

 

North Shore Bank

North Shore Bank recently announced that it has raised upwards of $16,000 with its weekly Jeans Day. Held every Friday, the campaign allows bank employees to wear jeans in exchange for a $5 donation. The proceeds are then pooled each month and donated to an organization chosen by the employees.

 

NeighborWorks Southern Massachusetts

NeighborWorks partnered with local residents to host a neighborhood cleanup and block party in Quincy Point. More than 75 volunteers participated in the effort to clean up around 45 Winter St., a former vacant lot that is now home to many families, following the construction of NeighborWorks’ development.

 

North Brookfield Savings Bank

North Brookfield Savings Bank recently announced that its “Feed a Camper at Camp Putnam” fundraiser collected over $2,374 to feed campers from low-income families.

Additionally, North Brookfield Savings Bank announced that 2-year-old Flynn Reardon won a $100 gift certificate to Klem’s in Spencer for the bank’s “Where It’s At” hat contest. Each month, anyone seen wearing a NBSB hat is entered into a drawing to win a gift card.

 

Salem Five

Salem Five recently announced that Missing Dogs Massachusetts, an organization that reunites owners with their lost dogs, is the winner of the Salem Five “We Love It Here” Helping Hands Contest. Facebook users chose the organization via an online poll, and the Salem Five Charitable Foundation donated $1,000 to the cause.

 

Savills Studley

Savills Studley, a commercial real estate services firm that specializes in tenant representation, announced that it facilitated the relocation of two nonprofit organization Schools for Children Inc. in the greater Boston area. The Savills Studley team negotiated a lease for Dearborn Academy, a special education therapeutic day school. The move also allowed the Lesley Ellis School to move to a building owned by Schools for Children.

 

 

Webster Five

The Webster Five Foundation announced that, as part of its Web of Caring to Make a Difference program, it will donate $2,500 to Habitat for Humanity MetroWest/Greater Worcester.
