Mechanics Cooperative Bank recently named John Myron, Mitchell Lavoie, Kelsey Hebert, Kimberly Medeiros and Casandra Abgrab as recipients of the 2016 Mechanics Cooperative Bank Scholarship Awards.

Bay State Savings Bank

Bay State Savings Bank raised $3,500 for its Champions for Children honoree, Worcester PIF (Pay It Forward) at the Taste of Shrewsbury Street in June. The event, presented by Shrewsbury Street Area Merchants Association and media sponsor, WXLO Radio, provided an opportunity for Shrewsbury Street restaurants and vendors to showcase their wares, by offering “tastes” to the public for the price of an admission button.

 

Bridgewater Savings Bank

Bridgewater Savings Bank announced that its charitable foundation has made a donation of $2,500 to Pro-Home Inc., which helps families by offering down payment and closing cost assistance to first-time homebuyers, pre- and post-foreclosure services, credit and debt counseling and FDIC-based Money Smart seminars.

 

Debbie Blais Real Estate

Debbie Blais Real Estate recently helped sponsor a charity golf tournament, held by the Cranberry Country Chamber of Commerce. The real estate company sponsored a $150 “hole-tee.” Proceeds from the tournament benefit the chamber and its scholarship fund.

 

Eastern Bank

Boston-based Eastern Bank’s charitable foundation recently awarded $10,000 to SHARE Outreach Inc., to support SHARE Outreach’s Self-Reliant Program.

 

Fidelity Bank

Fidelity Bank’s Barre Savings Charitable Foundation recently distributed a $5,000 grant to the Quabbin Education Foundation for Students and Teachers. The organization provides enrichment, enhancement and academic support for the students and faculty of the Quabbin Regional School District. The grant will be used to restore district educational programs that were cut due to budget restraints.

The Mount Vernon Co./Percelay Family

Nantucket resident Bruce Percelay, founder and chairman of The Mount Vernon Co., a Boston-based real estate firm, and his wife, Elisabeth, have committed a record-setting $10 million matching gift toward Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s capital campaign. Percelay has previously served on the hospital’s board of trustees, and has been one of the lead fundraisers for the new building, which will be named the Percelay Pavilion.

RTN Federal Credit Union has announced the 2016 recipients of its James A. Burley Jr. Scholarship Awards, totaling $10,000: Sarah Wilkinson of Canton, Alexandra Cataldo of Waltham and Grant Dolan of Andover.
