Weymouth’s new library offers an expanded children’s literature department, community meeting rooms and a digital media lab and space for teen activities as it opens to the public this month.
CTA Construction Managers led the 50,000-square-foot Tufts Library project, which replaced the half-century-old former library with a new facility on the same Broad Street site.
Designed by Tappe Architects Inc. with Hill International as owner’s project manager, the project was supported by a $12 million grant from the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
Amenities include an outdoor amphitheater and large lobby with cafe. Following a move-in period, the facility will officially open later in September.
Waltham-based CTA Construction has completed more than 75 municipal construction jobs in Massachusetts over its 20-year history.
