Woburn-based Cummings Properties  has appointed Greg Ahearn vice president of field operations.

The position was previously held by Bob Venezia, who retired in 2007 after 28 years with the company.

Ahearn has been with Cummings, a commercial real estate, property management and construction firm, for 19 years.

Before the promotion, he was general field manager overseeing more than 200 full-time mechanics, maintenance technicians and construction workers.

He joined the company in 1992 as a plumber. He became general field manager in 2007.
