Woburn’s Cummings Properties has appointed Boston resident Lars Carlson to the newly added position of leasing director.
A native of Sherborn, Carlson holds a bachelor’s degree from Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y. He gained his initial experience in commercial real estate at the Massachusetts Office of Business Development, a government agency that works with large companies looking to expand or relocate to the commonwealth.
Carlson accepted to his first leasing position with Maynard-based Wellesley Management, where he spent five years working mainly with technical startups. Subsequently, he served as director of leasing for the Mayo Group, a commercial and residential real estate firm headquartered in South Boston.
"With the rich spirit of innovation in Massachusetts, I was anxious to work for an industry innovator," Carlson said. "Cummings Properties was founded by a serial entrepreneur, and has a long history of providing space for life science companies, technical startups, and other innovative sectors."
"Cummings has remained strong in the face of a down market, and continues to set challenging goals for itself," leasing manager Erica Wright said. "Lars’ knowledge and experience will help us reach our ambitious leasing objectives during the next year and beyond."
