Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has acquired an office condominium in the Longwood Center research building in Boston for $239 million from the original development team.

National Development, Alexandria Real Estate Equities, Clarion Partners and Charles River Realty Investors developed the 11-story, 350,892-square-foot research facility, which broke ground in 2012 after Dana-Farber signed on as anchor tenant for 154,000 square feet. Dana-Farber moved its chemical and structural biology, proteomics programs and its Belfer Institute for Applied Cancer Science into five floors at the Elkus Manfredi Architects-designed facility in 2014.

Children’s Hospital leased 50,231 square feet in July 2015 and Brigham & Women’s Hospital signed a 10-year lease for 16,763 square feet on March 31.

The office condo acquired by Dana-Farber comprises four of the five floors that it occupies in the building and a 49-percent share of the 315-space parking garage, said Brian Kavoogian, president of Charles River Realty Investors.

The original development partnership retains 211,000 square feet of office and retail space leased to Boston Children’s Hospital, Dana-Farber, Brigham and Women’s and four restaurants.
