Deerfield Academy’s new $52 million fieldhouse has been recognized for its sustainability and architectural design.

The 135,998-square-foot facility, which was designed by Sasaki and built by Skanska, attained LEED Gold certification for minimizing water usage, optimizing energy performance and maximizing open space.

The complex completed last winter also received AIA New England’s award for excellence in architecture in the organization’s 2019 design awards.

It includes an ice rink, locker rooms, sports offices, crew tank room, tennis court, elevated jogging track, group exercise rooms, batting cages, a golf simulator and lounge.
