Developer Lendlease in partnership with investor Ivanhoé Cambridge has acquired a development parcel at Boston Landing for $67 million with plans to break ground on a 320,000-square-foot life science building in June 2022.

The 1.15-acre site at 60 Guest St. overlooks the Massachusetts Turnpike between the Celtics and Bruins training facilities.

“This project is an important milestone for elevating Lendlease’s life science development capabilities in Boston and expanding on our existing life science construction experience in major markets across the U.S.,” Lendlease Boston General Manager of Development Nick Iselin said in a statement.

Boston-based architects SGA will design the $500 million facility. Lendlease said it will apply its experience as construction managers on more than 350 life science projects in the Northeast to its role as developer at 60 Guest St.

JLL Senior Managing Director Coleman Benedict and Senior Director Kerry Hawkins represented NB Development in the sale.

Requirements for life science space in Greater Boston topped the 4.5-million-square-foot mark at the end of 2020, according to JLL research.

The transaction leaves just one development site left at NB Development’s 1.9-million-square-foot master-planned site in Brighton, a parcel approved for a 175-room hotel.
