Edward F. Doherty Jr. has been promoted to executive vice president of StonehamBank.

As executive vice president, Doherty will assume responsibility of the planning and implementation of the bank’s goals, policies and organizational objectives and activities, according to a statement. He will also focus on managing all aspects of the bank’s sales, marketing and human relations functions.

Doherty joined StonehamBank in March 2009, serving as vice president of business development and commercial lending, according to a statement.

Before joining StonehamBank, Doherty worked for Citizens Bank as relationship manager and vice president and at Northern Bank & Trust as commercial loan officer, assistant vice president and commercial credit analyst.
