This afternoon, HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan and Congressman Barney Frank will host a press conference in Roxbury to announce major new funding to assist struggling homeowners.

The funds, provided through the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, will complement existing Obama Administration efforts to stabilize hard-hit neighborhoods and help responsible homeowners, according to a statement.

Frank and Donovan will join other local elected officials, including Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, today at 2:30 at the offices of Urban Edge Community Development Corp., 1542 Columbus Ave. in Roxbury.
