Natick-based Eastern Insurance Group LLC, a subsidiary of Eastern Bank, has appointed John Fallon as executive vice president. He will be in charge of the company’s commercial lines division.

Fallon, who joined Eastern Insurance in 1999 as a commercial lines sales manager, was formerly a senior vice president at the company.

"Eastern Insurance is excited about John’s promotion to head up our commercial lines business," Hope Aldrich, president and CEO of Eastern Insurance, said in a statement. "John is highly respected by his colleagues and clients. We look forward to great things from John and his extremely talented management team."

Fallon holds several industry designations, including Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter, Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Risk Manager.
