East Boston Savings Bank Appoints COO

John Carroll John A. Carroll has been named chief operating officer (COO) at East Boston Savings Bank.

Carroll joined East Boston Savings as chief information officer in early 2012. Prior to that, he was senior vice president of operations and technology at Danversbank. Previously, Carroll worked for Sallie Mae and other companies handling operations, call centers and project management.

"As COO, John has ultimate responsibility for aligning full banking capability across the entire bank with our corporate strategies," Richard J. Gavegnano, chairman, president and CEO of East Boston Savings Bank, said in a statement. "He will also participate in positioning the bank strategically to comply with all regulatory requirements both existing and emerging while closely following bank policies and procedures as well as banking laws and regulations."
