A 49-unit condo project in near East Boston’s Maverick Square has broken ground after receiving an $18.7 million construction loan.
The project by Woburn developer Joseph Nogueira includes 50,000 square feet of development, including three retail units, a roof deck and 34 parking spaces at 205 Maverick St.
The 18,000-square-foot parcel was previously occupied by Maverick Street Market and the Swish & Swash Laundromat.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Preston Flammang and Jessica Ke sourced the loan from Needham.
“The East Boston market has experienced immense growth in the last few years and is one of the few major markets that is still early in the condo cycle,” Flammang said in a statement.
Completion is scheduled for mid-2021.
