Boston-based Digital Geographic Technologies Inc. (DGT), an engineering service for large-scale construction projects, has opened a North Shore office in Newburyport.

DGT has also added Edward Dixon and Taylor Turbide to its North Shore operation, according to a statement.

Dixon, a 20-year industry veteran, was formerly principal land surveyor at Oak Engineers LLC and owner of Clipper City Survey, Engineering & Mapping Inc. In his new role, Dixon will provide leadership as regional office manager for the DGT Survey Group.

Turbide previously worked for Newburyport’s Port Engineering and in his new role will bring previous experience and knowledge of Newburyport development projects, according to a statement.

"As successor firm to the Oak Engineering Survey Division, DGT and Ed Dixon will continue to provide Oak clients with the high standard of service and reliability that they have come to expect, enhanced by the additional resources of the DGT Survey Group," said DGT Principal-in-Charge Michael A. Clifford. "These resources include in-house advanced survey technologies such as 3-D laser scanning, RTK GPS and subsurface utility engineering (SUE)."
