College Avenue United Methodist Church has selected Essex Builders to construct its new place of community ministry and worship at 149 Broadway in Somerville.

"We are excited to re-launch our congregation with a building that will welcome everyone in the community to participate with us," according to a statement by Reverend Justin Hildebrandt. "There is so much going on in East Somerville right now and we look forward to being part of it."

The project’s design documents were prepared by Boston Bay Architects and reflect the church’s mission to serve the broader community as well as worship. The structural engineering firm of Roome & Guarracino, LLC and the MEP firm of McRitchie Engineering were engaged by Boston Bay Architects to assist with the design.

"Essex Builders is proud of the excellent reputation it has acquired for constructing religious houses of worship throughout New England. We are delighted that College Avenue United Methodist Church has selected our company for this important project and look forward to rewarding their trust by giving them a wonderful building," acknowledged David O’Neil, president of Essex Builders.
