The Fenway Triangle Mixed-Use Project shows no signs of slowing down, as was evidenced in a recent filing with the Boston Redevelopment Authority (BRA) by developer Fenway Enterprises LLC.
The Fenway project originally included the construction of two buildings: 1325 Boylston St. and 132 Brookline Ave., according to the report. The Brookline Street project, known as Trilogy, added 576 residential units, ground floor restaurants and retail to the area. The Boylston Street project, completed in 2008, included 200 residential units and new building for the Fenway Community Health Center.
Further project goals include extending the streetwall along Brookline Avenue and "creating an attractive, active new streetwall along Van Ness Street which will serve as a major building block in transforming this underutilized street into a vibrant pedestrian-friendly retail corridor," according to the filing. There are plans to remove all loading, mechanical and service-based activities from the streets surrounding the site and to create new bike lanes.
Fenway Enterprises has also proposed building residential and office space above the retail space. All proposed parking construction would be built underground in order to make the area more pedestrian-friendly.
For both Fenway sites, a total of 290 new residential housing units have been proposed. The developer also seeks to build or redevelop 225,000 square feet of office space and 25,000 square feet of retail space.
