Richard FisherRichard Fisher, president of Beverly-based Red Wing Construction, has been elected president of the Associated Subcontractors of Massachusetts (ASM).

During his tenure as ASM’s president, Fisher plans to maintain his involvement in legislative affairs affecting the construction industry as well as strengthen the association’s educational and technical assistance programs and its members’ access to business resources.

"ASM has been the preeminent organization for subcontractors in Massachusetts for decades, and my goal is for it to become an even more significant presence, and to [be] recognized even further by the legislature, the business community and the construction industry," Fisher said in a statement. "Given the importance of the construction industry to the state’s economy, and the critical role that subcontractors play, there’s no reason why that can’t happen."

Fisher has 30 years of industry experience at all levels, including private and public sector institutional, commercial and multi-residential construction, as well as real estate development expertise.  A member of ASM’s board of directors for the past six years, he has been involved in the association’s legislative activity, including its current efforts to cap retainage at 5 percent on private work.

Fisher was elected president during ASM’s recent Biennial Dinner Gala. He will serve a two-year term through 2015.
