Cathy E. Minehan, a former president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, has been elected to MassMutual’s board of directors, the company announced today.
Minehan has also held several management positions with the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
Minehan retired from her post as president and CEO of the Boston Fed in 2007 and now serves on a number of corporate and non-profit boards, including Visa, Becton, Dickinson and Co., Massachusetts General Hospital and the University of Rochester.
Minehan holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from The University of Rochester and a master’s degree with distinction from New York University.
"With nearly 40 years experience in the Federal Reserve banking system, Cathy has a significant amount of knowledge and expertise in a number of areas, including operations management, financial services, regulatory oversight and economic development, that will be an asset to our board and our company as we continue to operate our business for the benefit of our policyholders and deliver long-term value to them," said Stuart H. Reese, chairman and CEO of MassMutual.
Her appointment as a MassMutual director is effective Oct. 12.
