The first residents have begun moving into the Batch Yard luxury apartment complex in Everett, built at the renovated former Charleston Chew candy factory.

Approximately 13 percent of the 285 units have been leased since the complex opened in August. A grand opening CandyFactoryAptceremony was held Oct. 1 to mark the opening of the second building. Prices range from $1,605 for 685-square-foot studios to $3,989 three-bedroom units with dens.

Fairfield, Conn.-based Post Road Residential converted the seven-story former candy factory, which had been vacant for nearly 30 years, into luxury apartments. The complex contains a roof deck with views of the Boston skyline, an outdoor swimming pool and movie theater, grilling stations, pet play areas and washing station and fitness center. More than 300 people attended the grand opening ceremony, catered by Everett brewery Idle Hands Craft Ales and Cambridge-based caterers Season to Taste.
