A 5-story brick office building across from the Gillette factory in Boston’s Fort Point neighborhood has sold for $18 million, according to a deed filed in the Suffolk Registry on Aug. 12.

The 22,000-square-foot building carries two addresses: 40 Channel Center St. and 241 A St. Built in 1919, it has a restaurant on its first floor and is assessed at $6.95 million, according to city records.

The buyer was 40 Channel Center Street Boston LLC, controlled by Shelly Lee, head of North American operations for Akelius Residential, and Noam Kleinman, head of Boston operations for the Swedish real estate company.

Akelius has been active in Greater Boston in recent years, spending over $200 million on five residential portfolios in the area. The company owns over 50,000 apartments in North America.
