Paul Marotta received the CCUA Hall of Fame award CCUA Awards of Excellence at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on Oct. 17, 2019.

Paul Marotta, chairman emeritus of Hanscom Federal Credit Union, was awarded the 2019 Cooperative Credit Union Association (CCUA) Hall of Fame award in recognition of his 43 years of service to Hanscom FCU. The honor was presented at the CCUA Awards of Excellence at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut on Oct. 17.

“Paul Marotta has dedicated more than just his career to the credit union industry; his life’s passion is to help people,” Ray Phillips, Hanscom FCU’s board chairman, said in a statement.

Marotta guided Hanscom FCU through numerous changes, from the buildup of technology, member growth, economic shifts and legislative challenges within the credit union movement. Under his leadership, Hanscom FCU has grown from $140 million in assets, four branches, and 15,000 members to $1.4 billion in assets, 22 branches, and 91,000 members.

Marotta also supports Boston Children’s Hospital, the Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless and numerous outreach efforts within local and military communities.

“Paul has been a leading force in the credit union community for 43 years, and it’s gratifying to see him honored by the CCUA for the lifetime of volunteer service he’s given to our members,” David Sprague, Hanscom FCU’s president and CEO, said in a statement.

The CCUA represents credit unions in Delaware, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
