HarborOne Bank has hired a former Century Bank employee to lead its retail operations.

The bank earlier this week tapped Brenda Kerr as senior vice president of HarborOne’s retail division. In this role, Kerr will be charged with the continued development of the strategic vision, delivering on overall profitability and growth while focused on maintaining the HarborOne bank culture.

“We’re excited to welcome Brenda Kerr to our retail division,” Joseph Casey, president and COO of HarborOne Bank, said in a statement. “Having been in the banking industry for more than 20 years, we look forward to the knowledge and expertise Brenda will bring to the division.”

Kerr comes to HarborOne with over two decades of retail experiencne in the Greater Boston and Rhode Island marketplaces.

Prior to joining HarborOne, Kerr was director of retail sales, operations and support at Century Bank, where she organized, monitored and directed the overall activities of the bank’s retail branch network and the retail operations and support group.

Kerr began her career in banking at Fleet Bank, which transitioned to Sovereign Bank and more recently to Santander Bank, where she progressed in responsibility from branch leadership, district leadership and sales and service strategy for Santander US.

HarborOne opened its first branch in Boston earlier this year.
