Fall River’s HealthFirst Family Care Center has opened a new, 78,000-square-foot community health center.

The facility allows HealthFirst to consolidate and expand its services, and consists of 36,000 square feet of medical and dental service space. It is also the new home of the Fall River WIC program. HealthFirst is leasing the remaining space to specialty health care services tenants.

Steffian Bradley Architects designed the facility, which is the result of the renovation of a former Bradlees store, has a modern look and is open and spacious, the firm said in a statement. It was most recently used as a textile manufacturing facility.

The project was completed using an $11.5 million grant from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
